Background and education

From the time I was five, I was drawn to color, pattern, and beauty. I would decorate little boxes with leafy hand-drawn prints and spend hours experimenting in school art classes with ceramics, crayons, and scratch-off ink drawings. Creating has always filled me with peace and joy, and even as a child, I loved sharing my designs and seeing the happiness they brought others.

As I grew up, my skills grew with me. I loved illustrating and took every art class available. By 7th grade, I knew I wanted to be an artist, and by senior year, I was enrolled in a Design vocational block class. I went on to earn a BA in Design of Clothing with a minor in Fine Art, an AAAS in Graphic Design, and even took classes in Interior Design.

I sewed my own clothes, designed costumes for my kids, and always searched for the perfect fabric or paper pattern—often wishing I could make exactly what I envisioned. Scrapbooking became another joyful outlet and during the time I ran my online scrapbook store, I even created a line of papers that coordinated with a well-known brand to complete a scrapbooking kit I sold. Connecting with fellow designers, crafters, and makers during that time was deeply inspiring. Even when life took me into careers that weren’t always creative, I found ways to bring design into my work—creating flyers, postcards, and logos for friends starting small businesses.

Inspirations & Creative Journey

Today, I create surface pattern designs for fabric, wallpaper, home décor, and paper goods, inspired by flowers, culture, popular trends, and filtered through my own unique color choices and patterns. Whether it’s a scrapbook page, handmade gift, baby shower favor, or fabric for clothing and home décor, my designs are meant to make life brighter, more colorful, and full of delight.

Creating still gives me the same sense of peace and joy I felt as a child, and sharing my work with others remains one of the greatest rewards of my life.
